Clayton Peshlakai

He doesn't just create art—he builds it from the ground up, with his hands, his history, and his spirit.

Biography

Born in Window Rock, Arizona, and deeply rooted in the spirit of the land, Clayton's journey is not one of traditional paths—it is one of discovery, discipline, and purpose. Largely self-taught, his creative foundation began not in galleries, but in the hands of his family. His path led him through engineering, welding, and large-scale fabrication—working with raw materials, mastering fire, steel, and structure. Today, Clayton creates powerful contemporary sculptures and one-of-a-kind jewelry, blending industrial strength with Native American heritage. His work spans aluminum, stainless steel, bronze, and mixed metals.
